Manifold Pressure Sensors for Sale
The Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor is a very important sensor as it senses the load of the engine. The sensor produces a signal that is relative to the vacuum amount in the intake manifold. This information is then used by the engine computer to alter ignition timing and fuel enhancement. When the engine is functioning heavily, the throttle opens wide and so the intake vacuum drops. The engine takes in additional air, as it needs more fuel to maintain the air/fuel ratio in equilibrium. In reality, when the computer interprets a hefty load signal from the MAP sensor, it normally creates a little richer fuel mixture than normal so the engine can generate more power.
During the same time, the computer will hold back ignition timing to some extent to avert discharge, which can harm the engine and impair performance. When the driving conditions change and the car is moving under a light load, slowing down the vehicle will require less power from the engine. The throttle is not open too wide or may be shut resulting in the rise of the vacuum intake. The MAP sensor senses this and the computer reacts by inclining out the fuel mixture to lower down the fuel intake and boosts ignition timing to nip a little more fuel efficiency from the engine.
